TechHerfrica is preparing to host the first-ever PoliServe Dialogue on October 15, 2024, in honor of the International Day of Rural Women. This event, themed “Enhancing Livelihoods of Rural Women through Stakeholder Collaboration,” will bring together stakeholders to discuss the unique challenges rural women face in Nigeria and provide solutions that can drive sustainable development.

The PoliServe Dialogue is designed as a platform for rural women to share their experiences and challenges, with input from policymakers, private sector leaders, and advocates. TechHerfrica, an organization dedicated to promoting gender inclusion in technology and policy, has set the stage for these women to not only voice their concerns but also engage in discussions that lead to actionable solutions.

The event will explore a range of issues affecting rural women, including limited access to finance, digital tools, and business opportunities. Additionally, environmental concerns will be a key part of the conversation, as rural women are particularly vulnerable to the impacts of climate change.

Imade Bibowei-Osuobeni, CEO of TechHerfrica, emphasized the importance of this event: “PoliServe Dialogue will provide a crucial platform for rural women to be heard and for their challenges to be addressed by the key players who can create real change.”

In addition to the economic and environmental issues, the PoliServe Dialogue will address gender-based violence, a critical barrier to the well-being and empowerment of rural women. By tackling this and other challenges head-on, TechHerfrica hopes to develop actionable strategies that can be implemented to enhance the quality of life for women in rural areas.

Imade stated that giving these women the platform will empower them in so many areas which includes, finances, gender-related violence and many more, with the needed resources. “Our goal is to make sure these women have access to the resources and support they need to thrive, and that their contributions to society are fully recognized,” she concludes.

As October 15 approaches, excitement is building for the PoliServe Dialogue. The event promises to provide innovative solutions and foster collaboration among stakeholders to empower rural women. TechHerfrica’s initiative is set to drive meaningful change by ensuring that rural women have a seat at the table in discussions that directly impact their lives and communities, setting the stage for a more inclusive and equitable future.
