The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has commenced investigation into the death of Mr. Ademike Godwin, who was allegedly stabbed in the Guzape area of Abuja.
There have been reports circulating that the deceased was stabbed by his son, a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, although authorities have not confirmed the claim.
FCT Police Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh, said the command received a distress call and immediately launched an investigation into the incident.
According to her, the police were alerted after concerns were raised over the inability to reach or access the deceased at his residence.
She said the victim was later discovered in a pool of blood and was confirmed dead by doctors on duty at the Karu General Hospital.
Adeh added that five suspects, including a relative of the deceased, have been taken into custody as part of a discreet investigation ordered by the Commissioner of Police, Ahammed Muhammed Sanusi.
“The FCT Police Command is investigating the death of Mr. Ademike Godwin of Guzape, which was discovered following a distress call regarding inability to reach him,” she said.
She urged members of the public to remain calm and provide any useful information that could assist ongoing investigations.
