FCT police rescues 14 abducted victims, kill kidnapper

Police operatives of the FCT Command attached to the Anti-kidnapping unit and the Rubochi Division Police Headquarters in the continued fight against kidnapping in FCT, rescued 14 kidnapped victims on Wednesday evening.

The combined team, acting on credible intelligence stormed a Kidnapper’s den located at Ukya village via Nasarawa state bordering FCT, on sighting the police operatives, the hoodlums’ engaged open fire on the police operatives which resulted in a gun duel, the police operatives neutralized one of the kidnappers as the rest scampered to a nearby forest with various degrees of bullet wounds.

According to FCT Police spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, “The hostages who were rescued unhurt have since been reunited with their loved ones.

The Commissioner of Police, FCT, CP Haruna G. Garba reiterated his commitment to rid FCT of Criminality in all its manifestations and maintenance of peace for all and sundry.
