France seeks Nigerians’ enrolment in institutions
Embassy of France in Nigeria, in collaboration with Campus France Nigeria, has called on Nigerians to enrol in French institutions
The call was made at the “Study in France Fair,” hosted by Campus France, designed to connect over 22 French institutions of higher learning with the Nigerian audience.
The event, which attracted over 500 attendees, showcased a wide range of study programmes, scholarship opportunities and pathways for Nigerian students to pursue higher education in France.
At the event, the Deputy Director of the Marketing and Mobility Department at Campus France, Juliette Linares, said the France school tour was about creating awareness and increasing Nigerians’ enrolment in French institutions.
She stated that over 22 institutions from French universities, business schools, engineering schools and colleges were present at the tour to answer students’ enquiries and explain the requirements for each student interested in studying in France.
She mentioned there was no language barrier as over 1,700 programmes were taught in English.
Also, Deputy Head of the Africa Unit at Campus France, Oumou Diakite, highlighted the tour’s growth, stating: “We started this tour about three years ago in Nigeria with 15 institutions. Now, we are here with over 22, which is a significant achievement. Today, over 500 Nigerian students came to explore and inquire about opportunities in France.”
Deputy Head of Cooperation, Sebastien Bede, underscored the broader objectives of the fair, noting that the tour was not just about promoting French institutions but fostering collaboration between France and Nigeria.
According to him, the fair reflects the deepening bilateral ties between Nigeria and France, aiming to enhance educational exchange and mutual understanding between the two nations.
