The Enhanced E-Passport is part of the new reforms approved by the Federal Government of Nigeria. It is the product of an intensive review of the existing e-passport booklet, which has been in circulation for over 10 years and has only 5-year validity.

Requirements for the First Issue of E-passport

1. Passport: Application form to be completed online and printed out
2. Payment: Slip printout (NIN IS MANDATORY)
3. Acknowledgement: Slip printout
4. Photocopy of birth certificate
5. Photocopy of the machine-readable passport (the old passport), if applicable.
6. Photocopy of Birth Certificate and Local Government Identification Letter if you have the machine-readable Passport (the Old Passport).
7. Two current passport-size photographs with white background (35MM X 45MM)
8. Administrative fee or buy a money order in the name of the Nigeria High Commission.

Procedures for E-Passport

1. In the Passport menu on the Nigeria Immigration website, choose to apply for passport renewal and sign in using your Google account. You may use it to log into the system, otherwise, select the Open ID option and create an account for the application process.

2. Please, click on Create a new application, fill out the online forms, and submit.

3. Once the application has been successfully submitted, you will be provided with a Reference Number and Application ID. Please print it out, as you will need it later in the application process.

4. Please, pay for your passport via innovate1services using your credit card. Print your application form, acknowledgement slip and payment slip. (If acknowledgement and payment slips cannot be found, kindly click the link below. https://portal.immigration.gov.ng/visa/OnlineQueryStatus

5. The applicant should appear at the Nigerian High Commission Ottawa on the appointment date, with his or her expired Nigerian passport and required documents. If the application is for a first issuance, and the applicant is under the age of sixteen, the following requirements must also be met.
