Kogi, pharmacists partner for improved healthcare services

Executive Secretary of Kogi Health Insurance Agency, Dr. Adekunle Aledare, has welcomed a partnership with pharmaceutical outlets for the benefit of enrollees across the state.

He spoke yesterday in Lokoja during a meeting with pharmaceutical outlets in the state His words: “For the benefit of the health and wellbeing of citizens of the state, the agency will partner with relevant stakeholders, especially the pharmaceutical society. This is because drugs are the core elements of health insurance globally.”

He declared that the partnership with community pharmacists would provide an alternative supply chain of the needed essential drugs to enable enrollees to access prescribed medications at all times.

Aledare assured the pharmaceutical outlet representatives of the agency’s integrity and dedication to its enrollees and accredited healthcare providers.

Also speaking, the board chairman, Suberu Arikochonu, clarified that the meeting was to establish a strong and result-oriented partnership for the availability of drugs to all enrollees of the agency across the state for better service delivery. He stressed the need for cooperation between the agency and the pharmaceutical outlets to achieve tangible results.

Speaking on behalf of the pharmacists, the Managing Director of Farida Pharmacy Nig. Ltd., Okene, Ovurevu Muhammed, thanked the agency for partnering with some of the pharmaceutical companies in the state.

He stated that the firms would do their best to deliver. On his part, the Permanent Board Member of the agency, Jacob Abrahams, lauded the representatives for accepting to be part of the transformation programme.
