Labour hail Yusuf as Kano implements N71,000 minimum wage
The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) and Nigerian Labour Congress (NMA) have applauded the Kano State Government for payment of N71,000 minimum wage.
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf who announced the approval N71,000 minimum wage in October pledged full implementation of the wage with November salary.
The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Kano State Council on Wednesday, in a statement appreciated the state government for fulfilling its pledge.
Similarly, the Nigerian Medical Association NMA, in a statement by its spokesperson, Dr. Mohammed Aminu Musa, hailed the state government for the upward review of the CONMESS structure for all doctors working in state hospitals.
According to NLC chairman, Kabiru Inuwa, the new wage marks a significant step towards improving the welfare and living standards of the dedicated workforce in Kano.
“We therefore use this medium to commend the Comrade Workers and Pensioners friendly Governor for prioritizing the needs of workers and demonstrating strong leadership in these challenging times,” Inuwa said.
The NLC chairman said the implementation will motivate workers, upgrade local spending, and contribute to the overall development of Kano Service.
He urged workers to reciprocate the gesture with hard work, efficiency, and dedication.
On his part, the NMA Chairman Dr. Abdurrahman Ali encouraged medical doctors in the state services to remain committed and to continue delivering excellent healthcare services to the good people of Kano State and beyond.
