Lagos moves to reduce response time for emergencies, fatalities
The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) has planned to acquire more sophisticated equipment to improve and reduce response time to emergencies in the state.
Permanent Secretary, LASEMA, Dr. Femi Oke-Osanyintolu, disclosed this, yesterday, after the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a private firm, Sandeco, which had been engaged to deliver equipment to the agency.
Oke-Osanyintolu said that his agency attended speedily to over 10 major emergencies on Christmas Day.
He urged residents to obey safety rules and regulations at all times.
The LASEMA boss reiterated the commitment of the Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu-led administration to ensuring adequate protection of life and property both on waterways and on land, with the increased investment in building human capacity of LASEMA team and now equipment.
Chief Executive Officer of Sandeco, Mr. Vincent Sothey Effiong, said that all the equipment his company would be supplying to LASEMA would be topnotch to help the responder deliver on task.
