Lagos police arrest suspected cable thief
The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a suspected cable thief.
The Lagos Police said operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) arrested the suspect around 1:00 pm on Wednesday while on routine patrol of the Third Mainland Bridge.
The Police retrieved four bounded strands of cables from him.
“The arrest of the suspect, a Nigerien, Seidu Ali (24) was the second in three weeks,” the Police said.
It added that Ali had earlier been arrested and reprimanded for attempting to steal cable on the same Third Mainland Bridge.
The Police also said that the Commander RRS, CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi has directed that the suspect be charged to court immediately.
