Lagos police arrest two suspected cultists with firearms
Officers of Ajah division of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested two suspected cultists along Budo Specialist Hospital road, Ajah, Lagos.
The suspects: Bada Bayo, 45 and Segun Ogundele, 45 were arrested after policemen on routine patrol flagged down their vehicle, an unregistered Mercedes saloon car for a search.
The Command’s spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, said an English Beretta pistol with seven rounds of live ammunition was found in their possession after a search of their vehicle.
Hundeyin said the investigation revealed that the suspects are cultists.
He added that further investigation is ongoing to unravel more details about the suspects, their activities and the source of the firearm. “Suspects would be arraigned at the conclusion of the investigation.
“The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi, again assures residents of the Command’s unrelenting resolve to eradicate all forms of criminality in the state.
