Lagos Police intercept live cartridges, arrest three suspects on their way to Katsina

Operatives of Ikorodu Division of the Lagos State Police Command have intercepted two commercial buses loaded with large quantities of live cartridges, three dismantled motorcycles and some personal effects at Poromope Estate, Ijede Road, Ikorodu, Lagos State.

Operatives of Ikorodu Division of the Lagos State Police Command have intercepted two commercial buses loaded with large quantities of live cartridges, three dismantled motorcycles and some personal effects at Poromope Estate, Ijede Road, Ikorodu, Lagos State.

The suspects, 35-year-old Tukur Abdullah, 36-year-old Dahiru Idris and 50-year-old Muazu Telim were on their way to Katsina State, according to the Lagos State Police Spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin.

The Police recovered exhibits as well as the vehicles, with registration numbers KMC 438 YK and KMC 394 XF and have been transferred to the Lagos State Command Headquarters, Ikeja for further investigations.

Meanwhile, the Inspector-General of Police IGP) Usman Baba, has warned the applicants and officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) who will be actively involved in the forthcoming physical screening exercise for applicants who successfully registered for admission into the 9th Regular Course of the Nigeria Police Academy Cadet Degree Programme to shun illegality and any other forms of criminality during the exercise as such would invite severe sanctions.

The IGP made the call while taking briefings on the ongoing admission process into the Academy from the Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of the Department of Training and Development, DIG Mohammed Dan-Mallam, and the Commandant, Police Academy, Wudil, Kano, AIG AA Abdulrahaman, on Friday in Abuja.

According to the Force Spokesperson, Chief Superintendent of Police (CPS) Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the IGP said, the screening exercise will commence from Monday 26th September 26, 2022, to Saturday, October 1, 2022, at 8:00 am daily.
