Lagos task force impounds 51 vehicles in crackdown on illegal parking
The Lagos State Task Force on Environment and Special Offences, over the weekend, impounded 51 vehicles across the state in its renewed crackdown on illegal parking.
Sources said the operation, personally led by the Chairman of the Task Force, CSP Adetayo Akerele, witnessed officials raiding areas like Lawanson, Itire, Oseni, and Oba Akran road in Ikeja based on complaints from Lagos residents drawn from the agency’s “See Something, Say Something” feedback mechanism.
Confirming the development, the spokesperson for the agency, Abdulraheem Gbadeyan, said in a statement that 51 vehicles were impounded.
while the drivers would be charged in court for various traffic offences. He urged residents and commuters to inform the agency of any area in the state with such undisciplined parking habits.
