Ministerial Screening: Tinubu’s Adviser Applauds Akpabio’s Professionalism
THE Special Adviser to the President on Senate Matters, Basheer Lado, has applauded the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, for what he described as “his uncommon professionalism” in steering the screening exercise of the seven ministerial nominees.
Lado also acknowledged the leadership of the Senate and the senators in the parliament for the prompt and thorough confirmation process in actualising his vision.
Recall that President Bola Tinubu, penultimate Wednesday, made good his threat to weed his cabinet of underperforming ministers by sending them packing after just one year in the saddle.
He forwarded the names of seven ministerial nominees to occupy the vacant positions to the Senate for screening.
The decision also follows some damning report on some of the cabinet members, which did not go down well with some Nigerians.
The sack was believed to have been done to reinvigorate his administration’s capacity for optimal efficiency pursuant to his
commitment to deliver on his promises to Nigerians.
In a statement made available to newsmen on Friday, Lado also commended President Tinubu on the quality of ministers he has selected, saying it underscores the President’s commitment to addressing Nigeria’s pressing needs and driving economic revitalisation.
According to him, “the ministers were carefully chosen based on expertise, wealth of knowledge and extensive experience, equipping them to make impactful changes across key sectors.”
He further noted that the appointment of the ministers demonstrates President Tinubu’s responsiveness to the aspirations of Nigerians and his commitment to delivering the dividends of democracy to the citizenry.
“This selection also reflects President Tinubu’s dedication to fostering national unity, peaceful co-existence, and social harmony, building a foundation for a more vibrant and inclusive Nigeria,” Lado added.
