Mock UTME holds today as JAMB asks candidates to come with HB pencils
The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has asked candidates sitting for today’s mock Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) to enter the examination hall with HB pencils for numerical analysis if they so wish.
JAMB spokesperson, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, stated this in a statement yesterday.
The statement emphasised that other writing materials remain prohibited both in the mock UTME slated for today, March 7, and the main examination scheduled for April 19, 2024.
The statement said: “This clarification became necessary, following the series of inquiries from candidates and the general public regarding whether HB pencils are permitted in the examination hall as a writing material.
“Consequently, candidates are urged to note that they are to come with only one pencil to their respective examination centres as specified, while ensuring that they are not in possession of any other prohibited items.”
