Moghalu, Nwoye, Umahi mourn Ifeanyi Ubah’s demise

The former Managing Director of National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), Dr. George Moghalu, has expressed sadness over the sudden demise of Ifeanyi Ubah representing Anambra South in the Senate.

Moghalu, in a statement, yesterday, noted that it was devastating receiving the shocking news of Ubah’s death who, according to him, was so full of life. Moghalu said that the late Senator would be greatly missed at a time his entrepreneurship experiences and political sagacity is needed in the country.

The ex-NIWA boss, who is a founding member of the ruling All progressives Congress (APC), described Ubah’s demise as a monumental loss to Anambra State and the country in general.He said: “Ubah’s untimely departure is totally unexpected and shocking.

His death was even more devastating because he was full of life in carrying out his activities recently. It is not only a big loss to the Senate, the people of Anambra State, but also the country as a whole.

“He came, saw and conquered within the short lifespan he had on earth. As a successful businessman and politician, he was a beacon of hope to many across the country, having dedicated his life to the development of his community and human empowerment.”

ALSO, the Senator representing Anambra North, Dr, Tony Nwoye, has expressed sadness over Ubah’s death. In a statement he issued yesterday, Nwoye noted that he received the news of Ubahs death with rude shock. He described Ubah as a senior brother, friend and colleague.

He said: “Ifeanyi Ubah has been a long standing senior friend and compatriot. He was a renowned businessman, who founded the famous Capital Oil and Gas Ltd in 2001 before he ventured into politics. As a legislator, he attracted a lot of projects and other democracy dividends for his people, contributing his quota in the national discourse and debate.

On his part, the Minister of Works, David Umahi, yesterday, said that the death of Ubah has created a deep vacuum in the social existence of the Igbo community and Nigeria in general. Umahi stated this in his condolence message obtained by The Guardian in Abakaliki. He noted that the incident was shocking and devastating.
