The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) has approved the appointment of the Managing Director of Kaduna Electric, Dr. Umar Hashidu, to the Initial Stakeholders Advisory Panel (ISAP).

 

A statement issued by the Deputy Managing Director of Kaduna Electric, Abubakar Sadiq Mohammed, on Thursday, noted that the ISAP, which comprises seasoned technocrats, energy experts, and professionals, will serve as the think tank as well as the highest consultative and policy advisory body in the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry.

 

Mohammed said, “The ISAP, which has a three-year tenure, will focus on addressing critical challenges in the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry, including regular reviews of the Market Rules and Grid Codes, as well as advising NERC on technical issues relating to the operations of the electricity market.”

He described the appointment of Hashidu to the strategic panel as an attestation of the strategic position of Kaduna Electric as a leading player in the nation’s electricity market and an affirmation of the Commission’s approval of the sterling leadership qualities of Kaduna Electric’s Managing Director/CEO.

 

“The prestigious appointment by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission is a testament to our Managing Director/CEO’s expertise, leadership, and contribution to the industry. The Advisory Panel will provide strategic guidance on key issues affecting the electricity sector. We are confident that our MD/CEO’s participation will add value to the industry as a whole and enhance our Company’s reputation,” he stressed.
