Niger suspends varsity VC, trains 70 youths on farming
Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago of Niger State has ordered the immediate suspension of Vice Chancellor of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai, Prof Abu Kasim Adamu.
The Guardian learnt that the governor also directed the axed administrator to hand over affairs of the institution to the next ranking professor.
It was gathered that Adamu, who was due to complete his tenure in two months, had been accused of insubordination.
According to sources within the university management.
It was also learnt that the suspended VC had been locked in an internal crisis with unions over his alleged high-handedness in the management of the institution.
BESIDES, the state government has confirmed training no fewer than 70 youths in soilless farming in Abeokuta.
The disclosure was contained in a statement by Special Adviser on Digital Media and Strategy to the Governor, Abdullberqy Usman Ebbo, on his X handle, after a visit to the farm in Ogun State.
