Consuming contaminated food in Ibadan left me battling for life — Actress Osunde
Nollywood actress Jemima Osunde has shared her personal health struggles that arose after consuming contaminated food while working on a movie set in Ibadan.
She revealed that she has been struggling with H. pylori, a bacterial infection that led to constant stomach discomfort.
She also disclosed that she developed Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD), a condition characterised by chronic acid reflux and its impact on her well-being.
The incident has shed light on the often-overlooked issue of food safety in the entertainment industry, highlighting the risks actors may encounter during production.
Expressing her regret for her involvement in the production, she stated: “I have never regretted anything the way I regret taking that job and going with them to Ibadan to shoot under their care. God, please help me heal my stomach this year; I am begging you,”
Osunde pleaded.
“I got H. pylori from set food, and the aftermath of GERD has left me fighting for my life the last 3 years.”
