Adeleke relocates widow, children of slain Accord Party member to Osogbo

Osun State governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has relocated Tolulope Aderogba, the widow of slain Accord member, and her four children to the state capital for maximum protection and care.

Recalled that Ajayi Aderogba, was reportedly shot dead last week Tuesday in Esa Oke community of Obokun Local Government Area of the state.

However, in fulfillment of the governor’s promise during a condolence visit to the bereaved family, Aderogba’s widow, alongside her children have been moved to Osogbo, the state capital.

A statement by Adeleke’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, on Sunday hinted that when the widow arrived the capital city, she needed medical attention and the governor gave instructions for immediate medical attention which is ongoing.

According to the statement, “aside from moving the families to the state capital, the governor has also granted full scholarship to give children of the deceased while accommodation has also been provided for them at the capital.

“The relocation process coordinated by Hon Pelumi Olajengbesi, the spokesperson to the Imole Campaign Council and the member of the House of Assembly representing Obokun state constituency, Hon Adewumi Adeyemi, was completed on Friday evening following fear about the safety of the widow and her children.

“Olajengbesi had also handsomely donated for the care and support of the bereaved family.

“During a visit to the relocated family, the governor assured them of their safety and care, assuring that the Aderogba’s killers will surely be apprehended and prosecuted.

“The governor informed the police authorities that some members of Esa Oke communities are still being threatened because of their support for Accord, tasking the police to act before another tragedy in that ancient town.”

The statement further quoted Adeleke to have said that “I am happy the widow and children are now fully secured here at the capital. We have made all arrangements for the schooling and other needs of the family. The state will ensure their safety, care and justice for the late Aderogba.

“I am monitoring the implementation of the directives by the Inspector General of Police through the Deputy Inspector General of police. It is getting to 72 hours after the meeting. 48 hours ago, the Deputy Inspector General of Police also held an operational meeting with the service commanders in the state.

“We expect immediate action to implement directives of the Inspector General of Police. I am hoping that no police officer will defy an openly conveyed instructions and operational orders duly issued by the IGP”, the statement concluded.
