The Nigerian Army has again reaffirmed its commitment to protecting lives and property and preserving the nation’s territorial integrity.

The pledge came on Thursday from the leadership of the 6 Brigade of the force which is located in Jalingo, the capital of Taraba State, while announcing their clamp down on three individuals suspected to be collaborating with terrorist elements in the State.

In a statement signed by the Brigade’s Acting spokesperson, Captain Oni Olubodunde, the troops said the operation that led to the breakthrough took place on 15 October 2024 at Landey Jessy village of Lau Local Government Area (LGA) of the state.

He said, “Acting on intelligence reports of some Bandits presence in Kona range of mountains which cut across Jalingo and Lau LGAs, troops of 6 Brigade conducted operations around the general area which led to the arrest of three suspected collaborators.”

The troops, who identified the suspects Ahijo Sulaiman, Abdulrahman Isah and Aisha Mohammed, said that during the investigation, Mohammed who is married to Sulaiman confessed that Ahijo’s residence was used for hiding their weapons after operations.

The troops added, “Abdulrahman on the other hand was identified by a victim he attempted to kidnap in Iware of Ardo-Kola local government council sometime in September 2024”.

Announcing that the suspects are currently in custody and undergoing further investigation, the troops urged the public to continue providing timely and credible information to security agencies.

Reiterating their commitments to rid the state and the country of terrorism and other forms of insecurity, the feat, they believed would only be actualized when timely and credible information is made available to security operatives.
