Barber docked for allegedly stealing mattresses
A barber, Abdul Omoshayola was on Wednesday docked in a Magistrates’ Court, Dutse, Abuja, for allegedly stealing two mattresses.

Omoshayola, however, pleaded not guilty to the one-count charge of stealing.
The Prosecutor, John Okpa told the court that the complainant, Peter Ikechukwu reported the matter at the Kubwa Police Station on Sept. 25.
Okpa alleged that the defendant, an employee of Champion League Barbershop, Gado Nasko Road, Kubwa allegedly stole the two mattresses and a standing fan.
He said the mattresses were valued at N130,000 and the standing fan at N190,000.

He said that the offense contravened the provisions of Section 287 of the Penal Code.
The Defence Counsel, Naomi Abang, urged the court to grant his client bail in liberal terms.
The Magistrate, Mohammed Abdulmumini admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N500,000 with one surety in the like sum.
The magistrate said the surety must reside within the court’s jurisdiction.
Abdulmumini ordered that the surety must provide a statement of account, utility bill, a valid Identity card and one passport photograph.
He adjourned the matter until Nov. 13 for hearing.
