Bishop Odedeji begins episcopal visit to Agege, Iju-Ishaga archdeaconries

Describes regions as strategic hubs for gospel spreading
The Bishop of the Diocese of Lagos West, Anglican Communion, The Rt. Revd. Dr James Olusola Odedeji has described Agege and Iju Ishaga Archdeaconries under the diocese as strategic hubs for spreading the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, saying that the regions enjoy the continuous influx of people to the place due to socio-economic factors.
The bishop, who spoke during his episcopal visit to the parishes under the archdeaconries, urged members of the church to intensify their efforts in preaching the gospel and winning souls.
Odedeji, who also commended the unwavering faith of members of the church in the areas, praised their resilience in the face of infrastructural challenges and poor road networks around the Lagos-Ogun border axis.
The bishop, while commending the parishioners in Iju-Ishaga for putting up impressive worship centres despite the harsh economy, also urged Christians to remain prayerful for the swift completion of the projects.
He said: “I challenge you, my people, to call on your friends, sons and daughters both here in Nigeria and the Diaspora to assist in developing our churches, saying that while the diocese is willing to assist parishioners under it, there is the challenge of meeting the increasing demand for assistance.”
The bishop, however, pledged that despite the limitations, the diocese would continue to strive to assist churches where and when necessary.
