Public transporters in Edo state have protested against the union’s hike in payment from N100 to N1000.

In a video seen by the Guardian, commercial transporter workers were seen protesting and complaining about the hike in payment.

One of the drivers was seen asking the government what was their offence that would make the Edo State increase the payment from them to the state.

In the video, one of the protesters was heard saying, “First of all, them they follow us dey fight and na him make us go our president.”

“Wetin be the problem, wetin we do? Make them tell us.

“We no dey get peace, na so so problem them dey give us. Make them tell us wetin we do.

“Make the governor intervene for this matter na wetin we want.

The transporters were here on the video chanting the “we no go gree song.

Another of the drivers in the park said before transporters pay N100 only for the union to task them to start paying N1500.

The driver said” We have been dey pay N100 before na so dem just come now say make we dey pay N1500. Na so se go our chairman office to go complain. This na cheating.

“Dem even take my chair from my motor this morning. Wetin be all this ?
“We dey beg governor Okpebholo make he come help us.”
