A non-profit organisation dedicated to addressing food insecurity, combating malnutrition, and fostering community development, the REACH Nigeria Foundation has impacted over 12,000 people and distributed 1,500 food packs to eight underserved communities through targeted programmes and initiatives.

Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation, Benedicta Ayerite, who disclosed this in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital during the release of the group’s 2024 impact report, said the successes were recorded despite logistical, resource and economic challenges.

She said the report highlights the foundation’s significant achievements in transforming the lives of vulnerable populations across Nigeria.

Ayerite stressed that in 2024, the ‘Foundation’s Feed the Street programme’, distributed 3,150 meals to individuals experiencing hunger and homelessness across Lagos and Port Harcourt, while the ‘nurture & nourish programme’, also made significant strides in combating malnutrition in rural communities.

She also noted that the programme educated over 200 mothers on affordable, nutritious meal preparation, benefiting over 300 children, adding that the foundation partnered with global artist, Damini Ogulu, a.k.a Burna Boy’s spaceship collective to renovate the Cheshire home which improved living conditions for disabled residents.

She said: “Our Christmas joy campaign delivered holiday cheer to 600 families, ensuring they had food, gifts, and essential supplies to celebrate Christmas with dignity.

“Also, over 200 volunteers contributed 3,000 hours to programme implementation and community outreach, demonstrating the foundation’s commitment to community engagement.”

The foundation further reported that it raised over N40 million via donations, sponsorships, and fundraising campaigns in 2024.

“Looking ahead, the REACH Nigeria Foundation aims to host a milestone fundraising event marking its 5th anniversary, expand its donor and partner networks, enhance its storytelling and non-profit marketing strategies, and launch a volunteer recruitment drive.”

“Our vision for 2025 is ambitious but necessary. “With stronger partnerships, innovative strategies, and the unwavering commitment of our team and supporters, we aim to double our impact and transform even more lives,” Ayerite added.

In a short remark, a representative of the beneficiaries, and resident of the Cheshire home, Port Harcourt, Ms Betty thanked the foundation for their support and prayed to God to bless them and Burna Boy for remembering them.
