Four drown in Ekiti River

The Ekiti State Police Command has confirmed that four men died after drowning in the Osun River.
A police spokesperson in the state, DSP Sunday Abutu, disclosed that the incident occurred on Sunday, November 10, 2024, along the Ajido-Ikoro road.
Abutu said the deceased, a 23-year-old and a 25-year-old natives of Okemesi-Ekiti went to River Osun Ajindo/Idoile Road to swim alongside two of their friends who came from Lagos State to attend a burial ceremony at Okemesi.
The police spokesperson said their bodies have been recovered and deposited in the mortuary while investigation is underway.
