A group of headwear makers in the country has embarked on initiatives to reshape the fashion industry and foster innovation among women.

According to the group, the move will enable female entrepreneurs to reimagine headwear not just as an accessory but as a statement of identity and sustainability.

The headwear makers under the aegis of Rujo Milliners Group during its annual hangout, stressed the need for fresh perspectives among members in an era where consumer preferences are rapidly evolving.
While encouraging members to explore sustainable materials and culturally inspired designs that reflect the diversity of today’s society in their craft, the Converner of the group, Ruth Philip-Omoyemeh, maintained that the initiative will stimulate creativity among its 230 members.

She said: “Our vision is to be a leading group that supports headwear designers to become the best at what they do and grow their businesses successfully.

“Our goal is to help headwear makers learn new skills, improve their craft, and grow their businesses. We provide training, guidance, and opportunities to connect with others in the same field.

“Once every year, we host an exciting hangout where members come together to connect in person, share experiences, and celebrate their progress.

“It is always a time to learn, unlearn, and relearn as we inspire each other to achieve greater success. This special gathering strengthens our bond as a community and reminds us of the joy and growth that come from being part of Rujo Milliners Group.”
