I have no hand in Habila’s death – Umahi

THE minister of works ,Engr David Umahi has cleared the air that he has no hands in the unfortunate death of Miss Mary Habila and assured that there must be an autopsy to clear his name even against the wishes and believes of the deceased’s family .

The Works minister made this clarification while responding to questions from journalists during a press conference on Thursday, insisting that anyone who accusses him of handing any hands in the death of a lady he refers to as his daughter, will face the wrought of God.

The Engr Umahi stated expressed sadness that the death of Habila is being politicized and evil-minded people are cashing-in to make ridiculous demands all to blackmail him and tarnish his reputation .

The works minister also revealed that he has instructed his lawyers to file a case of cyber stalking against an online platform that become notorious for defamation and the case will commence after the burial of late Habila .

The former Ebonyi state Governor also stated that despite the position of the family of the deceased that an autopsy was against their believe, he has petitioned the Inspector General of Police and sort transfer of the case to Abuja to ensure that investigation is conducted ,stressing that ,”Nobody will remove the corps from the mortuary for burial untill an autopsy is conducted.”

He explained that from the account of the deceased’s friend and her records with the Turkish hospital , she most likely died of nose-bleeding .

Umahi pointed out that there is currently a stalemate regarding the autopsy and that contrary to information about the late Habila’s professional career,”it is even wrong to say she a physiotherapist , she was a nurse , a committed staff and she will be difficult to be replaced.”

Habila died at the Ebonyi residence of the Works minister and her body has been deposited in a morgue .
