The police have arrested some protesters and journalists in Abuja after firing tear gas to dislodge protesters at the Moshood Abiola Stadium.

Although the location was designated for the protest, the police stormed the area, firing tear gas and shooting as the protesters and journalists at the stadium scrambled for safety.

The yet-to-be-confirmed number of arrested demonstrators and journalists are being held at the Wuye Police Station. Some of the organizers of the #EndBadGovernance protests disclosed that they have been at the station to seek the release of the protesters.

The protest, which has entered its third day, has been met with police crackdowns in Abuja, with incidents of tear gas firing and reported cases of the use of live ammunition.

The development has also seen a level of military deployment across different locations in the city, including the protest grounds.
