LAUTECH matriculates 9,772 undergraduate students

No fewer than nine thousand, seven hundred and seventy-two new undergraduate students were, on Thursday, matriculated into the academic environment at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, Oyo State.
Speaking at the main campus of the institution, where the 2024/2025 matriculation ceremony was held, Vice Chancellor of the Oyo State-owned university, Professor Razaq Kalilu, said the figure represented qualified students from across the 35 states of the federation who scaled the screening and registration processes into the various academic programmes in the 13 faculties of the university.
Represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Strategy and Development), Professor Adepoju Ogunkunle, the Vice Chancellor admonished the matriculants to be up and doing and be ready to obey the rules, laws, and regulations of the institution to avoid being sent out of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology.
The VC explained that the university was committed to ensuring that they were secure. Security surveillance devices are being deployed to all locations where students reside so as to monitor activities and situations, as well as discourage undesirable groupings.
He also urged the matriculating students to focus on their studies.
Professor Kalilu, at the end of the ceremony, announced a scholarship for the best 100-level student in the 2023/2024 academic session, Ayoola Taofikat Olamide of the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences.
