The Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, Bode Ojajuni, has charged members of the Ogun State Hunters Association to sustain their support for security agencies through intelligence gathering and timely information sharing to strengthen efforts against crime across the state.

Ojajuni gave the charge while receiving members of the association, led by its State President, Chief Muftau Alabi Oseni, on a courtesy visit to the Ogun State Police Command Headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta.

The delegation also included the State Chairman of the association, Chief Tajudeen Adele, Trustee Chief Bakare Ajayi Fatai, and other members.

Speaking during the visit, Chief Adele commended the police commissioner for what he described as the remarkable achievements recorded since assuming office, particularly the successful implementation of Operation Kosaye.

He also praised the command for involving members of the Hunters Association in security operations across the state and pledged the association’s continued support in protecting lives and property.

Before addressing the delegation, Ojajuni led a minute of silence in honour of a member of the Hunters Association who lost his life during a recent joint security operation.

The police commissioner described the fallen hunter’s sacrifice as a testament to the association’s commitment to public safety and expressed appreciation for the role hunters have continued to play in supporting law enforcement.

He specifically commended the association’s contributions to Operation Kosaye, noting that its members had become an important part of Ogun State’s security architecture.

Ojajuni urged the hunters to sustain their collaboration with the police, particularly by leveraging their grassroots presence to provide credible intelligence and prompt information that could help prevent crime and improve security across communities.

He also reaffirmed his open-door policy, assuring the association’s leadership of the command’s readiness to work closely with them in tackling security challenges in the state.

The visit ended with a renewed commitment by both the police and the Hunters Association to deepen their partnership in ensuring the safety and security of residents across Ogun State.
