Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency media source, that the ambush was conducted at a strategic point along the terrorists’ crossing route from Sambisa to Alagarno Forest.

The sources said that during the ambush, contact was made with the terrorists, who attempted to cross the area. Two terrorists were neutralised, while the remaining members of the group fled the scene.

The troops recovered one AK-47 rifle, a magazine containing five rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, three bicycles, and assorted food items.
