WAEC excludes Nigerian candidates from new WASSCE PC1 resit exam
The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) on Wednesday disclosed that the new WASSCE (PC1) resit examination does not apply to Nigerian candidates.
“Please Note: The news circulating about WAEC conducting a “resit examination” for candidates is not applicable to Nigerian candidates.” WAEC said in a post on X.
“However, candidates with outstanding grades can register for WASSCE (PC1) 2025 that commences soon.”
The “WASSCE (PC1)” exam program offers students the opportunity to retake failed subjects from previous West African Senior School Certificate Examinations (WASSCE).
WAEC Head of Public Affairs, John Kapi, announced the PC1 on Sunday during an interview on JoyNews’ AM Show.
Kapi said the WASSCE PC1 exams will be held from January 24 to February 15, 2025.
The WAEC official also explained that this program offers a faster route for students to improve their grades.
“Students who access their results now and realise they need to resit one or two papers have until 8th January to register online through our website or at WAEC-accredited internet cafés. The exams will take place from 24th January to 15th February 2025,” Kapi stated.
