The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration for its commitment to tackling inherited challenges while introducing forward-thinking policies aimed at Nigeria’s development.

The council noted that Tinubu’s leadership has demonstrated a clear dedication to moving the nation forward, in line with its constitutional obligations.

The NYCN’s National Public Relations Officer, Comrade Dotun Omoleye, stated this during a one-day interactive session commemorating Nigeria’s 60th anniversary, with the theme “Moving Nigeria Forward: A National Conversation.”

He said that each administration, past and present, is tasked with safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty, defending its honor, and improving the welfare of all citizens. However, he acknowledged that the challenge lies in maintaining hope and ensuring widespread well-being.

“Since its establishment in 1964, the NYCN has been instrumental in representing the interests of Nigerian youth, advocating for national development, and participating in key policy dialogues,” Omoleye noted.

He stressed the council’s pivotal role in shaping the country’s socio-political landscape, particularly in youth empowerment, employment, and education.

He said, “Every government inherits both assets and liabilities. The Tinubu administration is actively working to resolve these inherited issues while introducing new policies that address pressing national concerns. Progress is evident in various sectors, thanks to the government’s innovative approaches and legislative reforms.”

Noting the importance of collective action, Omoleye stated, “Nigeria belongs to all of us. Together, we must take responsibility and work toward a brighter future. When Nigeria succeeds, we all benefit.”

The Executive Vice Chairman of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), Khalil Suleiman Halilu, lauded Tinubu’s youth-friendly policies, noting that the administration has empowered young people to lead various initiatives, including the “Renewed Hope Agenda.”
