The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has launched the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses donated to it by the Federal Government to improve transportation across the country.

NLC president, comrade Joe Ajaero who presented the buses at the Mahmud Ribadu Square Yola, announced that 10 CNG-powered buses had been allocated to the region to ease mobility challenges.

However, he urged both the Federal and Adamawa State Governments to do more, emphasising the need for additional buses and the establishment of CNG refilling stations to maximize the initiative’s impact.

Ajaero also commended the Adamawa State Government for its cooperation with the NLC and its commitment to workers’ welfare.

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa, represented by his Chief of Staff, Dr. Edgar Amos, welcomed the initiative and called for more CNG buses to be deployed to the region.

He reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to workers’ welfare, noting that salaries had consistently been paid on time for the past six years.

“We have also procured several buses to provide subsidized transportation for residents,” Fintiri said.

Chairman of the NLC Adamawa Chapter, Comrade Emmanuel Fashe, expressed optimism that the newly introduced CNG buses would help alleviate transportation challenges in the state.
