Northern group under the aegis of the Association of Kebbi State Concerned Citizens, on Saturday, called on Governor Nasir Idris to continue implementing progressive policies that drive economic and social growth.

They highlighted Idris administration’s efforts in poverty alleviation, investment attraction, and security improvement, while encouraging public support for the governor’s vision

In a statement issued by the group’s spokesperson, Abubakar Muhammad Kebbi, the association praised the governor’s commitment to improving the living conditions of Kebbi residents through various developmental initiatives.

He also lauded his contributions to humanitarian aid, citing support for vulnerable communities and intervention programmes aimed at alleviating poverty.

Kebbi said: “We recognize and appreciate the efforts of His Excellency, Governor Nasir Idris, in driving growth across key sectors in Kebbi State. His administration has demonstrated a strong commitment to improving the welfare of the people, strengthening security, and enhancing critical infrastructure.

“We particularly commended the governor’s focus on education, his administration has prioritized school renovations, the provision of learning materials, and the recruitment of more teachers.

“On infrastructure, we acknowledged the ongoing construction and rehabilitation of roads, bridges, and public facilities, which they believe will boost economic activities and improve the standard of living in the state.

“Security was another key area in which the governor received commendation. We credited his administration for working closely with security agencies to tackle challenges such as banditry and other criminal activities, ensuring a safer environment for residents.”

The group noted significant strides in school renovations, humanitarian aid, and investment in road and bridge construction, which they believe will boost economic growth.

He also emphasized that Governor Idris, who assumed office in 2023, has rolled out various policies aimed at fostering economic growth and social development, attracting investment, and fostering partnerships to accelerate progress.

He added, “We as an association urged the governor to sustain his efforts and continue implementing policies that would bring further development to the state.”
