NSCDC appoints Abodurin as new Commander, safe schools response center
Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, (NSCDC), has appointed Commandant Ahmed Abodurin, PhD, as the new head of the National Safe Schools Response Coordination Centre (NSSRCC).
Commandant General of the agency, Dr. Ahmed Audi made the appointment replacing the former Commander of the center, Tersoo Shaapera who has been redeployed.
In a statement by the Public Relations Officer, (PRO), of the Corps, Babawale Afolabi, Dr.Abodunrin is “a trained and accomplished journalist before he joined the NSCDC as a volunteer in 1994 and rose through the ranks.
“He has held various major key appointments in the NSCDC and was a former State Commandant in Ogun and Ondo States.”
He had his first degree from the University of Lagos, a postgraduate and PhD from the University of Ibadan and is a fellow of the Institute of Criminology and Strategic Studies, ( FICSS) and also a fellow of the prestigious National Defence College.
NSSRCC is located at the national Headquarters of the NSCDC in Abuja with state coordination centres so far established across states. It is the tasked with the implementation of the safe Schools project.
The Centre is intelligence and surveillance driven, providing personnel for schools and host communities at different locations especially in places believed to be prone to schools kidnappings and attacks.
