Obasanjo calls for conservation of wildlife
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has called for a concerted effort by stakeholders for the conservation of wildlife, insisting that their existence is very important to the survival of nature.
Obasanjo who spoke yesterday while addressing members of the Pangolin Conservation Guild of Nigeria (PCWGN) at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, OOPL, Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, noted that most wildlife that could benefit Nigeria were going into extinction as a result of human activities.
The PCWGN is a non-governmental organisation (NGO) set up to protect and preserve pangolins in Nigeria.
They paid Obasanjo a visit to intimate to him about activities lined up for the celebration of year 2020 World Pangolin Day.
