Okunade becomes 38th President of Okota Rotary Club
Rotary Club of Okota has elected Nofiu Okunade as its 38th President, The investiture held at Rotary Centre, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos was presided over by the District Governor, Rotary Int’l, District 9111, Lagos and Ogun states, Dr. Wole Kukoyi and attended by Past District Governors including Deinde Shoga, Wale Ogunbadejo and hosts of Presidents, Princess Tokunboh Allison of Rotary Club of Isolo.
Okunade, who has carried out many projects in the past months.
They include a visit to the maximum correctional centre where they donated essential items and secured the release of indigent inmates who could not afford bail terms.
They also visited five different schools to enlighten girls on hygiene and donated to them. The star project was equipping Ansar-Ud-Deen Comprehensive Senior High School, Okota with library and sunk borehole. He is looking forward to becoming another ‘Paul Haris’ by contributing to Rotary Foundation, encouraging members to follow suit.
He urged them to contribute more to District Educational and Welfare Endowment Fund (DEWEF) and personally sponsor five students to Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) next year.
Kukoyi expressed the belief that Okunade will have a successful tenure with monumental changes in the club. The Chairman, Installation committee, Past President Jide Oderinde applauded the committee and members of the club for their team work to achieve a successful investiture ceremony as he also looks forward to Okunade’s prosperous and fruitful Rotary year.
