The Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Saliu Adetunji Ogungunniso 1 yesterday elevated 14 senior chiefs of Ibadan at his Popoyemoja palace.
They include Senior chief Adebayo Akande, the owner of the first private radio station in Ibadan; Lekan Alabi, a public relations consultant and seasoned journalist, Emiola Adesina, Kolawole Adegbola and John Dada.

Others include chief Yekini Adeojo, former Deputy National Chairman ((South) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Akinade Fijabi, Ibadan- based businessman.

While Akande was elevated to the position of Maye Olubadan from Ekefa Olubadan, Alabi moved from Aare Alasa to Agbaakin Olubadan. Adesina on his part moved from Maye Olubadan to Abese Olubadan, Adegbola moved from Ekefa Balogun to Abese Balogun while Dada was elevated from Agbaakin Balogun to Maye Balogun.

Adeojo moved from Asaju to Ikolaba Olubadan while Fijabi was elevated from Ayingun to Asaju Olubadan. While thanking the people of Ibadan and the Olubadan for the elevation, Senior Chief Akande called on the youths to reposition themselves in the society and help the future of the nation by abstaining from corrupt practices. He added that already, the youths were assuming the position of leadership in the society, saying that their character and quality of their decisions would shape the future of the nation.
