INEC officials arrive early as voters turn out in Osogbo

Voters turned out early on Saturday in Osogbo and Ede in Osun State to exercise their franchise in the governorship election, amid heavy security presence and the early arrival of officials and election materials at polling locations.

Security personnel, particularly officers of the Nigeria Police Force, were deployed to strategic locations across the two cities as voters gathered at polling units ahead of the commencement of voting.

At Okefia in Osogbo Local Government Area, officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) were seen at about 7:00 a.m., with preparations for the election already underway.

A similar situation was observed in Ede South Local Government Area, where voters arrived early at polling locations and waited for the commencement of accreditation and voting.

At Alajue Ward 05, Unit 01 and Ward 04, Unit 10, Alajue 1, Ede South Local Government Area, there was a heavy presence of security personnel, while voters expressed enthusiasm about participating in the election.

INEC officials and election materials also arrived early at the polling unit, allowing preparations for voting to commence on schedule.

The Presiding Officer at the unit, Maria Afo, confirmed that all the materials required for the election were available.

She said the polling unit was ready for the exercise.
