A fresh attack by armed groups took place on Thursday night in Budel, Tangur district of Bokkos Local Government Area, Plateau State.

This comes just days after a series of deadly attacks over the Christmas weekend that had already claimed 195 lives and left hundreds injured.

The Transition Committee Chairman of Bokkos, Monday Kassah, confirmed the attack and the latest casualty figures.

Kassah said that no deaths were reported in the Budel attack due to the timely intervention of security personnel.

He added that rescue operations are still ongoing to search for missing persons, and the number of casualties could rise further after the Christmas Day attack, which still stands at 195.
