Police apprehend man for allegedly killing, burying teenager in room
The police in Lagos have arrested a 30-year-old man for allegedly killing a 17-year-old boy named Adeolu Olubade and burying him in a room. On September 3, a man in the Ikola area of Ipaja Ayobo, Lagos State, went to the station and reported that his cousin, Olubade, was discovered dead and buried in a room at No 18 Jesus Assembly, Omoguwa Street, Ejigbo, Lagos.
The complainant stated that the act was suspected to have been carried out between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. on September 2. According to the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer Benjamin Hundeyin, the family of the deceased told the police that they suspected the 30-year-old man.
Based on the report, a team of detectives visited the scene of the crime, took a photograph of the shallow grave, and then brought the corpse out and took it to the Isolo General Hospital’s Mortuary for a postmortem examination.
The suspect was apprehended and taken to the station, and the shovel suspected to have been used was recovered, brought to the station, and registered as an exhibit. The suspect’s case file and exhibit will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Yaba, for further investigation.
