Police arrest ex-boxer for punching wife to coma
Operatives of Ondo State Police Command have arrested a 56-year-old ex-boxer, Moses Olapade, for punching his wife to a coma.Olopade, who is also a truck driver, allegedly pounced on his wife for refusing to hand over a television remote control to him.
The Guardian gathered that the event took place at their residence at No. 9, Odamo Street, Oke-Aro Community in Akure South Local Council if Ondo State. He was said to have asked his 44-year-old wife, Atinuke Olapade, to hand over the TV remote control to him, but she declined.
It took the intervention of neighbours to rescue the woman from her husband after the children ran out screaming for help.
The neighbours were said to have met her lying on the floor unconsciously, and quickly rushed her to the nearest hospital. The matter was reported to leaders in the community, who called on men of the Nigeria Police Force, after which he was arrested.
