A man, Kadiri Yusuf, also known as Alado, has fled after inflicting injuries on his two children in the Agege area of Lagos State. On October 18, 2024, the head teacher of a primary school in Orile Agege, Lagos, reported to the Elere Police Division that an 11-year-old female pupil had disclosed being beaten by her father. The teacher further reported that Yusuf had also beaten and injured the girl’s 13-year-old brother.

Following the report, police investigated the matter. Both children were subsequently taken into protective custody, received medical treatment, and were then handed over to their mother’s sister for safekeeping.

The spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed that efforts are underway to apprehend Yusuf. In a separate incident, Hundeyin announced the arrest of 25-year-old DemolaOladega in the Ikotun area of Lagos State for cable theft.

The Ikotun Police Division responded to a distress call from a security guard at a company on Governor’s Road, who reported suspicious behaviour by two young men on a motorcycle. The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) mobilised an anti-robbery patrol to the scene, where Oladega was arrested while his accomplice escaped.

Recovered from the scene were vandalised cable wires, a used battery, and a Pongxing motorcycle with registration number KSF 854 QL.
