The Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, on Monday, visited the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, Oyo State over the power outage running for over 107 days.

The Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) in March and October 26, 2024 disconnected power supply at the hospital due to accumulated debts.

The IBEDC for the third time in a year disconnected power supply at UCH on 26th October 2024.

Adelabu was in a meeting with the management of the tertiary health institution to find ways to resolve the power crisis in the hospital.

Adelabu and key staff of his ministry and other stakeholders met with the management of the hospital.

Some medical students are at a place close to the venue of the meeting, protesting against what is happening in the hospital.

The students appealed to the government to intervene in the situation.
