President Biden honours global business strategist

Global business strategist, Dr Martina Ononiwu, has been honoured by the American President, Joe Biden. Ononiwu was honoured with the prestigious US Presidential Lifetime Achievers Award for “lifelong commitment towards building a stronger community through community service.”

The Presidential Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) is awarded by AmeriCorps in association with the White House. This honour is bestowed to those who serve the American community selflessly. Her nomination was selected by Innovate Africa Corp.

The well attended event held at the Fourseason Washington DC with many captains of world industry and thought leaders present.

In a letter, the American President Joe Biden wrote “on behalf of the American people, I extend my heartfelt appreciation to you for your volunteer leadership and I encourage you to continue to answer the call to serve. The country is counting on you.”

Also, Ononiwu’s letter of nomination signed by President Biden noted that “it is with warmest congratulations and heartfelt appreciation on behalf of the Presidential Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) for the honor that has been bestowed upon you. Your outstanding contributions and achievements have not only earned you this well deserved recognition but also have left an indelible mark in the community.

“We acknowledge your dedication, hard work and exceptional talent that made significant difference in the lives of countless individuals.”

A day before the award, Ononiwu had featured in the panel discussion on Innovate Africa conference at George Washington University where she spoke eloquently on how Africa must make progress in leadership, business, technology, arts and culture.

Speaking after the event, Ononiwu said, “it feels great to have been honoured with a lifetime achievers award for my volunteer service and contributions to the community.”

The award was presented by Dr. Edna Frenchwood, during the prestigious gala night, on behalf of the certifying organisation.

Ononiwu was born and raised in Nigeria. She studied in Nigeria and France, and works tirelessly with many American individuals and organisations.
