Princess Akawor honoured at UK House of Lords for leadership excellence

 

From the glamour of the fashion industry to the halls of the British Parliament, Ambassador Dr. Princess Akawor has been recognised for her contributions to leadership, peace, and governance.

At the Global Leadership Investment Summit & Peace Awards (GLISPA), held at the House of Lords, London, Akawor received the UNIPGC & Jewel Howard Taylor Leadership Excellence and Distinguished Personality Award. The organisers described the honour as a recognition of her “exceptional leadership and unwavering dedication to the promotion of peace and good governance.”

Akawor, who is the Chief Executive Officer of Luxe by Glamoholic, has built a career that bridges entrepreneurship, philanthropy, and advocacy. With more than 15 years in the fashion sector, her brand has expanded across Nigeria’s major cities and is steadily gaining international presence. Beyond business, she runs the Lachlan Foundation, a non-profit initiative focused on women’s empowerment, community development, and advocacy for social causes.

Educated in Biomedical Technology at the University of Port Harcourt, Akawor represents what many describe as a “blend of intellect and innovation.” Her latest recognition at the House of Lords adds to a growing list of international awards, reinforcing her profile as one of Africa’s emerging voices in leadership and development.
