Rotary Club advocates innovative strategies to boost public image

The Pioneer Governor, Rotary District 9111, Dr Oluwole Kukoyi, has emphasised the need for innovative strategies in enhancing public image.

Kukoyi, who gave the charge, yesterday, during a public image seminar, with the theme, “Integrated Marketing Communications Strategy as Magic for Public Image Promotion in Rotary, said: “We recognise that effective communication is vital to Rotary’s mission. By sharing our stories, showcasing our impact, and engaging our communities, we can inspire a new generation of leaders.

“As Rotarians, we are not merely members; we are ambassadors of service, champions of humanity.

“Let us harness the magic of integrated marketing communications to amplify our message. Let us leverage storytelling, multiple channels, and authenticity to showcase our work. Together, we can elevate Rotary’s global reputation, attract new members and partners, and enhance our community’s outreach.”

In his contribution, the keynote speaker, President of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria and Managing Director of Noah’s Ark Communications Limited, LanreAdisa, noted that “using the medium of storytelling, multiple channels, and authenticity will boost brands’ public image.”

Head, Corporate Communications, Ecobank Nig. Ltd, Austin Osokpor, who gave a presentation on sponsorship, said: “We all have encountered sponsorship in one way or the other. People seek sponsorship now and then. I can see a direct benefit in partnership and that benefit will impact the community because people do business within that community and make a profit.”

Another speaker, Assistant Rotary Public Image Coordinator, Michael Effiong James, explained in detail how to use the necessary colours and designs for logos by logging into the Rotary Centre website”.

Head, Corporate Affairs, Lagos State Signage and Advertisement Agency (LASAA), Tope Akande, harped on the importance of out-of-home advertising in brand building, reputation management and perception.

The event ended with an induction and award presentation to some notable members of the club for their excellent selfless contributions to the service of humanity. They include past President, Rotary Club of Ikeja, Gbenga Badejo; Chairman, Public Image, Rotary International Nigeria, District 9111, Olalekan Otun; Tope Akande, Michael Effiong and John Odigbo.
