Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, yesterday, pledged that the state government would continue to roll out incentives for investors, from tax breaks and waivers, to streamline regulatory processes and a judicial system that is competent, efficient and guarantees the sanctity of contracts and property rights.

Sanwo-Olu, who spoke during the 2024 International Business Conference & Expo organised by the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), said that as a government, it would continue to create and ensure a business-friendly environment in the state, and continue to keep the doors open to all interested investors and partners.

He, therefore, implored the investors to take advantage of the opportunities and partner with the state to build a prosperous future for Nigeria.

Earlier, the state’s Commissioner for Commerce, Cooperatives, Trade and Investment, Folashade Ambrose-Medebem, stated that various opportunities are open to both local and foreign investors as the state contributes more than 30 per cent of the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

RELATEDLY, Sanwo-Olu, yesterday, provided N10 million to support youth-enabled businesses.

Sanwo-Olu, who spoke during the grand finale of this year’s International Youth Day Parade, with the theme, “From Clicks to Progress: Youth Digital Pathways for Sustainable Development,” organised by the Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Social Development, said that the state government had established various platforms for youths to ensure positive engagements in line with the T.H.E.M.E.S plus developmental agenda.

He pledged his commitment to youths’ empowerment and engagement, including enhancing access to micro-credit facilities.

The governor also said that various training and skills acquisition programmes had been made available to enhance their human capacity.

In his welcome address, Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Mobolaji Ogunlende, who saluted the resilience of the youths, said the state government would continue to empower them to be self-reliant.

He, however, advised the youths to channel their energy towards positive contributions to the growth of the state and the country in general and be the agent of change for Nigeria to realise its dream.
