Seth supports my decision to take new deputy, says Fintiri
Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, has unveiled Prof. Kaletapwa Farauta as his new deputy and running mate for the 2023 general elections, saying the decision has the blessing of his out-going deputy, Crowther Seth.
Farauta, the first female Vice Chancellor of Adamawa State University and the first female to head Adamawa State Universal Basic Education, all the appointments by Fintiri, replaces Mr. Seth.
She is from the same Lamurde Local Council with Seth.
Unveiling the new deputy, yesterday, Fintiri described Seth as a loyal deputy that played major role in all his achievements.
The governor said: “Mr. Chairman, fellow party men and women and powerful Adamawa electorate, we have come this far with your support, sacrifices and prayers. We still seek more of these pillars as we soldier on.
“Behind all these successes, there is one man I shall continue to appreciate for his patriotism, loyalty, patience and steadfastness; that is the Deputy Governor, Chief Crowther Seth, Nzeanzo Bachama. He has been with me through thick and thin, in the life of this administration.”
Fintiri also described his out-going deputy as a gentleman par excellence and a great politician, who made tremendous sacrifice in the service of the state and demonstrated maturity at all times.
“However, in politics, there comes a time when beautiful interests are sacrificed for expedience. With this, it has already been made clear that such a fine lieutenant will not be on our ticket for the 2023 election. Contrary to what the media is spreading, I am not dropping him.
“We were elected on the same ticket with a mandate of four-year term and, by the grace of God, we shall complete that term as mandated by the electorate. The true position is that, as we get set to seek a renewal of the mandate, we have found it expedient, with his consent and understanding, to bring on board a fresh hand to join the ticket. Prof. Farauta, the Vice Chancellor of Adamawa State University, Mubi, has been nominated as that fresh hand,” he said.
